Fun 2 Fit

There are a vast number of benefits for children who experience increased movement and physical activity in early childhood. In addition to creating healthy habits and fostering a lifelong commitment to physical activity, children whose early childhood education is based in movement enjoy the following benefits in both early childhood and for the rest of their lives:

  • Building developing muscles, bones, and joints faster
  • Reducing fat and lowering blood pressure
  • Reducing depression and anxiety

  • Developing healthier social, cognitive, and emotional skills

Further, active children have fewer chronic health problems, are sick less frequently, miss less school, and have a significantly reduced risk for a number of childhood and adult diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, obesity, depression, and mental illness.

This is why we are introducing our own Fun 2 Fit Kidz Club every afternoon at Buckets and Books. It will include fun activities, games, exercises, games skills and good old fashioned rough and tumble. It’s time to get the kids off the couch and away from the TV and PlayStation and out into the garden to play, exercise and socialise with others.

Our programme is available daily for half day (12.30 to 2.30 pm) or full day (12.30 to 5.00 pm) and can be enjoyed on a day to day basis or full time. Fun to Fit Club is charged on a daily rate basis.

  • Hot lunch served on the patio (12.30 – 1.00 pm)
  • Fun to Fit Club – Physical fun (1.00 to 2.00 pm)
  • Refreshments
  • Fun to Fit Club – Creative (2.30 to 3.30 pm)
  • Refreshments
  • Freeplay (4.00 to 5.00 pm)

While all children are welcome – our after-care programme is ideally located for children living or parents working in Broadacres, Dainfern and Fourways areas.
